Yesterday, members of the House Agriculture Committee adopted the amendment put forth by Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) that would ban all Hemp Derived products in the nationĀ - yes, prohibition again.
Further, Miller as well as other politicians in the room are backed by other cannabis companies of the Marijuana variety - our very own industry.Ā Ā
Let me explain what just happened hereā¦
MJ vs Hemp!?!Ā What have we done?
We have it all at the tip of our fingersā¦cannabis sativa L. flows freely throughout the nation (with the exception of some States), but as of yesterday, that is one step closer to not being the case.Ā This is largely due to the endorsement of large marijuana companies backing politicians to gain the upper hand over the Hemp industry; our very own family.
For a brief moment small cannabis supporting businesses - that are, in the end SUPPORTERS OF CANNABIS - were able to break into the industry and provide natural products and relief to customers (we have THOUSANDS of 5-Star reviews of positive benefits and experiences) where traditionally it is not accessible and flood the nation with cannabis.Ā Not to mention my recent visit to a ālegal Dispensaryā where I saw them selling the EXACT same type of product.Ā (Before I go further, 100% the hemp derived industry needs to be regulated, more on that later.)
Cannabis has arrivedā¦it is out there, available in SOME of its glorious 100+ different cannabinoidsĀ (NCIB).Ā Cannabis conversations and movements sparked, and negative stigmas broken about the plant because it is simply what it was - legal.Ā But as we know āwherever there is power, greed, and money, there is corruptionā - Ken Poirot
Straight out of Illinois - Greenleaf, Green Thumb, Curaleaf, along with the U.S. Cannabis Council; executive director Edward Conklin - all endorse this Miller Amendment and want to see the hemp industry banned.Ā Shutting down a $28 Billion industry and hundreds of jobs, extinguishing any progress that the hemp industry has made in the name of the cannabis industry as a whole.
EVEN WORSEĀ - They are siding with the politicians.Ā They are doing the very thing the cannabis industry never wanted, joining and backing the government and political agenda.Ā Additionally - they are directly teeing the ball up for the government and BIG PHARMA to enter the industry; as they seek to move Marijuana to Schedule 3.
Whatever you want to call it.Ā Loophole or not - Big Marijuana just endorsed the prohibition of the cannabis industry. Cannabis does not = ONLY Marijuana. Delta 8 and it's cousins are a disgrace to the real cannabis community. It is not a healthy alternative and I feel sorry for people who have invested businesses in selling this poison. I very much hope the legislature bans Delta 8 etc and gets educated about what is healthy and sustainable and push back against those who would ruin cannabis culture for profit. How about putting some grade A Plus kind bud in all that fancy packaging, that's the one thing the marijuana industry doesn't seem to be able to get right. Where did all the good pot go? Replaced by boof and Delta 8.
